All sold at Slough Urban Renewal’s flagship development
Last resident moves into their new home at Milestone as Slough Urban Renewal (SUR) celebrates the success of its first residential development
100% sold to owner occupiers; 48% sold to local buyers; 78% of purchasers used Help to Buy
This weekend, the last of the purchasers moved into their new home at Milestone (off Ledgers Road), joining the thriving new community, which is already building here. Milestone is the flagship, residential development by Slough Urban Renewal (SUR) – a proud partnership between Slough Borough Council and Morgan Sindall Investments Limited.
Committed to transforming the borough through a broad range of residential and commercial projects, SUR is focused on investing in both the town and its people. Unlike many other developers, SUR gave priority to owner occupiers, keen to build much needed new homes and to create a new community too. 100% of the homes here were in fact sold to owner occupiers and just under half of purchasers (48%) came from the local area. A further 22% of purchasers have moved from London, attracted by excellent connections into the Capital and more affordable house prices.
First launched in summer 2016, the collection of 73 homes, a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments and two and three-bedroom houses, the development has been popular among local buyers. The Government’s Help to Buy initiative was widely used, with 78% of buyers using Help to Buy to assist them with their purchase.
Andy Howell, General Manager at SUR added: “We are delighted that all of our purchasers at Milestone are now moved into their new homes. There is already a great sense of community here and we’d like to take this opportunity to welcome all our new owners. It is so important to us that we are delivering homes that directly meet the needs of the local market.
“With the recent launch of Wexham Green, our latest residential development, we will be delivering further family housing. With our two show-homes now open at Wexham, I would encourage anyone who is looking for a home in the area to come and see us. With initiatives such as Help to Buy available, there are a number of ways we can assist purchasers to take their first or next step on the property ladder.”
Councillor Zaffar Ajaib, cabinet member for urban renewal, said: “Milestone is a lovely development and has transformed the area. Milestone shows we, with SUR are building high-quality homes which people want and can afford and I am looking forward to seeing Wexham Green be just as popular.”
Milestone has now sold out. However, SUR has recently launched its second residential scheme, Wexham Green a collection of 104 two, three and four-bedroom homes. Prices for two-bedroom homes currently start from £395,000.
